Sidney Weicher, age 82, of Cold Spring, New York and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida died on March 8, 2003 in Florida. Son of Channa and Samuel Weicher, a devoted father and husband, loving grandfather and friend. Mr. Weicher struggled bravely with chronic asthma and heart problems for many years.
A pioneer in the plastics industry, and fiercely independent man, he founded two businesses after leaving the army in 1946 with Albert Einbinder, his lifelong friend who survives him. Charitable, honest and intelligent, he survived his first wife of 46 years, Enid Gleitsman who died in 1994 and his eldest daughter, Denise, who passed away in 1989.
He is survived by his four remaining children, Neil, Daniel, Susan and Maureen, their spouses and four grandchildren, Jonathan, Peggy, Jackie and Eric. Mr. Weicher remarried Rose Glagow in 1997 who survives him with her children Maureen, Stephen, Hillary, Jacqueline and Deborah. A very colorful and unique individual he will be deeply missed and remain intensely loved.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 13th at 12 noon at the Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott St., Cold Spring, NY. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
