Roy H. Alderman

Roy Alderman, 76, formerly of Cold Spring, NY, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Meadows Nursing Home in Dallas, PA.

Roy was a valued employee of Home Depot in Kingston, NY.

Born in Torrington, CT on January 10, 1927, he was the son of the late Katherine and Roy Alderman of Norwalk, CT and Long Island, NY.

He graduated from Peekskill High School in 1944 and left immediately for the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the USS Randolph, an aircraft carrier, in both the Mediterranean and South Pacific theatres of war.

Roy was a lifetime member of the Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and was one of its first members along with one of the other Corps founders, his brother-in-law, Bob Ford. Roy also found great joy in woodworking and made beautiful gifts for family and friends.

He is survived by his three children, Cathy Alderman Trovado of Dallas, PA; Roy Alderman, Jr. of Chugiak,

Alaska; and, Heather Alderman of Wallkill, NY and their spouses. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Rustyn Birch of Cold Spring and New York City; Lael Alderman of Eugene, OR; and Alisha Alderman of Seattle, WA; and by a brother, David Alderman and his wife, Sue, of Litchfield, ME along with many nieces and nephews. Roy was the former husband of Thelma Alderman of Cold Spring, NY.

A memorial Service will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
