Putnam Hospital Center Seeks Public’s Assistance in Documenting Its History

Do you remember when? First, it was the Mahopac Emergency Hospital. Then it was Putnam Community Hospital. In 2004, Putnam Hospital Center, which officially opened its doors on its present site on October 29, 1964, will be celebrating its 40th anniversary of providing healthcare to the community.

The hospital is currently in the process of gathering the various pieces that comprise the hospital’s history and would very much appreciate any photographs, letters, newspaper articles, that the public might have that would shed light on its early days. Copies would gladly be made if individuals did not want to relinquish their original items.
