Putnam Hospital Center’s Free Sibling Class to Provide Helpful Hints to Big Brothers and Sisters

On Saturday, January 3rd from 8 to 9 am, Putnam Hospital Center’s maternity department will offer a Sibling Class for children in its new Birthing Center, located at the hospital at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel.

Designed to ease the transition of becoming a big brother or sister, the class is open to youngsters three years of age and older. Parents are encouraged to attend this class with their children, which will also help introduce them to the hospital’s maternity department in a positive, non-stressful situation. Following the birth of their newest family member, the siblings will have special visitation hours reserved for them so that they may become better acquainted with their new brother or sister on a one-to-one basis.

Class sizes are limited and there is no fee for this course, however, registration is required. To register or for more information about the hospital’s expanded series of childbirth and parenting classes, please call the Birthing Center at Putnam Hospital Center at 845-279-5711, Ext. 2513, 8 am until noon, Monday through Friday.
