Putnam Hospital Center’s Upcoming Baby Boot Camp to Focus on Basic Newborn Care Issues

On Saturday, January 3rd, from 10:00 am to noon, Putnam Hospital Center’s maternity department will offer a Baby Boot Camp in its new Birthing Center, located at the hospital at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel.

The interactive class is geared for new or adoptive parents either before or after delivery. The course will review basic newborn care issues and help parents set realistic expectations for their baby’s first few months. Topics of interest to new parents will include feeding patterns, sleep schedules, crying and colic, and when to call the doctor as well as an overview of the newborn (up to three months). If available to them, participants are encouraged to bring a "baby" doll to the class as there are a limited number available for use at the hospital.

Class sizes are limited and there is no fee for this course, however, registration is required.
