Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam Celebrates an Early Holiday
Contribution Received From Ancient Order of Hibernians
The holidays started early for Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam as they received a donation of $4,885 from the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America, Division 16 (A.O.H.). The check was received during Hospice Care’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Holiday Inn on December 4th, 2003.
Dana Hickey, Event Chair and Vice President of A.O.H., presented the check to Michele A. Quirolo, President and CEO of Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam. Among those present were Kevin Galvin, President of A.O.H; Cornelia Schimert, Vice President for Hospice Care; and Congresswoman Sue Kelly.
A.O.H. is a non-profit organization which sponsors and supports many local charitable organizations within Westchester County. A.O.H. has donated over $30,000 to Hospice Care since 1999. They collected the donations from area churches in Westchester and Putnam throughout the fall season.
This generous donation will help Hospice Care continue to care for terminally ill patients and their families, with dignity and respect, in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. With the aid of the nurses, social workers, and other professionals on its team, Hospice Care provides total health care for its patients by focusing on their medical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
