On Nov. 15th, Junior Girl Scouts Troop 2454 from the Garrison Union Free School had a jam packed, adventurous and chilly Girl Scout Weekend at the Sharpe Environmental Center, sponsored by the Fresh Air Fund. The girls were taught to draw maps of their surroundings, to navigate through the woods with compasses, stargazed, and learned other methods of "Finding Your Way."

The Troop was also involved in a local coat drive for families in the Philipstown area and they have expressed their gratitude to the families and teachers and staff of the Garrison School and community members who assisted in helping the troop to help others. They gathered, washed, dry-cleaned (thanks to local drycleaners) and delivered 67 coats because of the generosity of the community. On December 13th the Troop will visit "A Christmas Carol" at Madison Square Garden.
