John F. Hallenback, Jr.

a 43-year resident of Wappinger Falls, Passed away Wednesday Dec. 10, 2003 at the age of 76.

He was born in Peekskill on September 4, 1927 to John F. and Ida (French) Hallenback; he graduated from Shrub Oak High School in 1945 as Valedictorian. He later attended Union College and New York University, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity.

A veteran of the U. S. Army Signal Corps, he served in Korea from 1945-46. He was an amateur radio enthusiast, and a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) since 1941.

In 1957 he married Rosemarie Critelli and went on to have two children, Heather and Michael.

He worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie and East Fishkill, NY for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992.

John was a beloved husband and Father, whose kind and gentle spirit and sense of humor touched all who met him. He always put his wife and children first, loving us unconditionally and with great patience. He made it easy for his family to know what god’s love was like. We miss him dearly, but are grateful that he is now at peace with his lord in heaven.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday Dec. 13, 2003 at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring at 10am. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Clinton Funeral Home Corner of Parrott and Pine St. Cold Spring, NY on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Mr. Hallenback’s name to the American Parkinson’s Disease Asso. 1250 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10305.
