Andrew Patinella age 91 of Yaphank, died, on Saturday March 27, 2004.
Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy on February 12, 1913, Mr. Patinella was a retired machinist for Chemprene in Beacon. A U. S. Army Veteran serving during WWII from 1942-45 where he attained the rank of Sgt. and was awarded three Purple Hearts for his actions in combat. Mr. Patinella had been a resident of Cold Spring for over 53 years coming from the Bronx. He was a member of the James Harvey Hustis Post #2362 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Patinella was predeceased by his wife Lena Maria (D’Mora) Patinella, who died May 1996, and his daughter Angie Williamson. He is survived by two sons Anthony and Catherine Patinella of Cold Spring and Joseph and Lesandro Patinella of Ronkonkoma. Two grandchildren, Patricia Phillips and Mark Patinella also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 31 at the Clinton Funeral Home at noon; visiting hours will be from 10 to noon on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the East End Hospice, Westhampton Beach, NY.
