Irene Ryan

Irene Ryan of Cold Spring, age 90, died on Saturday January 15, 2005 at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Mrs. Ryan was a retired secretary for Pan Am. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown, and the Philipstown Senior Citizens. Her husband James L. Ryan Pre-deceased her in 1994.

A family statement reads "She will be missed by those who, in these last years, learned to value her strength and determination. She leaves behind loving nieces and nephews and devoted neighbors and caregivers as well as lifelong, cherished friendships dating back to her employment at Pan Am. One of her last signs of recognition was a small smile toward her trusted guardian and friend"

A private cremation took place in Ferncliff Crematory in Hartsdale. A memorial service will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown Cold Spring on Thursday January 20, 2005 at 1 pm. The Rev. Leslie Mott will officiate.

As a tribute to her enduring love of animals and nature, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Disease Putnam County Affiliate, 1 Vink Dr., P.O. Box 1029, Carmel, NY 10512.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Clinton Funeral Home Cold Spring.
