Gerard J. Bocchino

Gerard J. Bocchino, 75, of Hazardville entered into Eternal Life on Friday, February 11, 2005, at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford. He was the beloved husband. of Mary Mullen Bocchino, also of Hazardville, for twenty-two years. Born in Cold Spring, NY, Gerry was the son of the late Carmine and Louise (Boniello) Bocchino. He attended local schools in the Cold Spring area and was a car insurance adjuster for eleven years before he retired in 1988. Prior to that Gerry owned and operated Bocchino Garage in Cold Spring, a gas station and repair shop, for twenty years. He also worked at McKiel Car Dealership in Cold Spring. After his retirement he worked for National Car Rental at Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks.

A communicant of Saint Bernard’s Church, Hazardville, he was a wonderful husband, son, brother, father, step-father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his wife, Gerry leaves two sons: Jimmy Bocchino and his wife Ruth of Liberty, MO, John Bocchino and his wife Shelly of Leesburg, VA; a stepson, John Mullen and his wife Michelle of Enfield; a daughter, Judy Adamson of Sonora, CA; two step- daughters: Kathy Erickson of Enfield and Maureen Mullen of Windsor; three brothers: Pat Bocchino of Beacon, NY, Jimmy Bocchino of Garrison, NY and Dom Bocchino of Cold Spring, NY; four sisters: Reggie Uva of Buchanan, NY, Nancy Esposito and Josie Fleming, both of Cold Spring, NY and Angie Weyant of Beacon, NY. There are also ten grandchildren: Justin and Matthew Bocchino, Michael and Katie Erickson, Jake and Nicholas Bocchino, Ian Adarnson, Marissa Brown, and Vanessa and Victoria Mullen as well as a former daughter-in-law, Gail Bocchino.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 15 in Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church in the Hazardville section of Enfield.. Burial took place in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Gerry’s family requests that donations in his memory be made to: The American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Avenue, Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004.
