Bereavement Support Groups Continue

People often feel overwhelmed with grief following the loss of a loved one. Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam, an affiliate of Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, is sponsoring free bereavement support groups at these community locations for those who have lost a loved one:

- Adult Bereavement support groups are held at The Dempsey House of Hudson Valley Hospital the 2nd Thursday afternoon of each month;

- Monthly groups are held at the Northern Westchester Hospital on Wednesday evenings;

- The Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster hosts a Senior Loss of Spouse support group the first Friday of each month during the afternoon;

- General Bereavement support group held on the fourth Monday evening of each month at Putnam Hospital Center.

Please Contact Susan Walton for enrollment information and specific dates at 914-666-4228.

Additionally, the Caring Circle Bereavement Program is a bereavement support program for children ages 3-18 and their families. Age-specific peer groups utilize discussion and activities to provide a safe environment to foster, healthy grieving and promote healing for both children and adults.

Support groups offered for bereaved children at the Yorktown Presbyterian Church are available on alternate Wednesdays.

For enrollment information and specific dates for the Caring Circle, please contact Ruth Commercio, at 914-666-4228.
