Christine Mary Bonacio

Christine Mary Bonacio entered into Eternal Rest on April 25, 2005 after enjoying a long and exemplary life full of love. She was born on August 4, 1900 to Dominic and Maria Montrastelle in Manitou, NY. She moved with her family to Cold Spring at a very young age and lived the rest of her life there. Christine completed her grammar school education at Our Lady of Loretto and high school at Haldane High School in Cold Spring. After graduating Krissler Business Institute in Poughkeepsie, she was employed for several years in New York City. She married John Bonacio who predeceased her in 1990.

Christine was also predeceased by her siblings Guido, Louis, Francis, John, and Armida (Erma) Montrastelle.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring. She was also a member of Cold Spring American Legion Auxiliary and the Cold Spring Senior Citizens Group. She will be remembered by all as a gracious, positive, charming lady with a good word for everyone. She had a deep and expressive love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her profoundly.

Christine is survived by a sister, Patricia McCloskey of Hamden, CT.; two daughters, Rita Ferrara of Fishkill, NY and Jaclyn Pollard of Cold Spring, NY; four grandchildren, Rene (Ferrara) Kardas of Hopewell Junction, Stephen Ferrara of Wallkill, NY, Stephen Pollard of Wappingers Falls and Christopher Pollard of Cold Spring, NY; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews throughout the US.

Friends may call at the Clinton Funeral Home, Corner of Parrott and Pine Sts., Cold Spring on Thursday, April 28, 2005 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, April 29 at Our Lady of Loretto Church Fair Street in Cold Spring. Interment followed in the Cold Spring Cemetery.
