Paul Mario Fazio

Paul Mario Fazio, age 84 and long time Cold Spring resident, died on Friday, July 1, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh.

Born in Bergeggi, Italy on January 30, 1921, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Virginia (Griffo) Fazio.

Mr. Fazio was a retired Seafood Manager for Food Fair Grocery Store in Poughkeepsie. After his retirement from Food Fair in 1981 he worked in Cafeteria Services for IBM at their East Fishkill facilities until his final retirement in 1986.

He was a U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran serving during WWII from 1942-46.

He had been a resident of Cold Spring since 1960 coming from Brooklyn, NY and he enjoyed cooking, gardening and hunting.

Mr. Fazio was predeceased by his wife Gilda (Rizzo) Fazio. She died January 13, 1999. They had been married on September 2, 1950 in New York, NY. He is survived by one son, John Fazio of Cold Spring, and one daughter, Virginia Upton of Newburgh, a brother, Joseph Fazio of Brooklyn and sister, Ciara (Nini) Fazio of Savona, Italy. In addition to his wife, two brothers, Rino and Francesco Fazio, predeceased him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the Clinton Funeral Home Corner of Parrott and Pine Sts. Cold Spring, at noon. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 am to noon.
