Mary (Malone) Williams

Mary (Malone) Williams of Chatham Borough, died on October 9, 2005 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA. She was 83. Born and raised in Cold Spring, NY, she will be interred at Cold Spring Cemetery.

Wife of the late Paul Archer Williams (1999); mother to Peter L. and his wife Carol of Bedford, NH; Ann W. and her husband John Fossett of Concord; Mary Ellen and her husband Michael Brown of Newtown, PA; grandmother of Michael & Matthew Williams, Lindsay and Timothy Fossett, Andrew, Erin & Patrick Brown. She is also survived by her sisters Kathryn Malone of Cold Spring; Clara Lou Gould of Beacon, and predeceased by her sister Honora Dougherty.

Mrs. Williams graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a B.A. where she studied English and speech. She married Paul Archer Williams in 1945, and they moved to Bloomfield, NJ. In 1958 they moved to Chatham, NJ.

Mary Williams was a longtime member (over 40 years) of the Chatham Fish and Game Protective Association and communicant of St. Patrick Church. She was an avid knitter and loved to crochet. She also loved to travel and go to the theater. A devoted grandmother, Mrs. Williams also quietly reached out to give aid to people in need.
