Robert S. Mac Arthur, Jr.

Robert S. Mac Arthur, Jr. age 78 of Cold Spring, NY formally of Boston, died on October 11, 2005 at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Born in Cambridge, MA on May 3, 1927 he was the son of the Late Robert S. and Doris (Ballard) Mac Arthur. He was a retired radio disk jockey for station WORE in Worcester, MA where he was instrumental in bring the Rolling Stones for their first concert in 1964. In later years he was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Fishkill. Mr. Mac Arthur was a WW II Marine Veteran and a member of the Mercy Tabernacle Church in Fishkill.

Survivors include one son Gary DeNardis of Dudley, MA two daughters Karen Apollonio of Cold Spring and Laurie Reynolds of Brimfield, MA. One sister Lois Spuria of Naples, FL. Six grandchildren and five great grand children also survive. He was pre-deceased by his wife Nancy Darling and two children Robert S. Mac Arthur III and Roberta Mac Arthur.

Services took place at the First Congregational Church of Dudley, Dudley MA on Saturday October 15, 2005. Interment followed Corbin Cemetery Dudley, MA. Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Local arrangements were under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home Cold Spring.
