Mount Saint Mary College Presents Piano Recital

Mount Saint Mary College will present a piano recital by Franz Vezuli at 4 pm. Thursday, November 3, in Aquinas 122, the music room of Aquinas Hall. The recital is free and the public is welcome.

Vezuli was born in Albania and moved to Belgium at the age of five. He began playing piano at age seven and a year later won first place at a competition in the Music Academy of Ixelles in Brussels, Belgium. He came to the United States in 1996 and continued his piano studies at the Manhattan School of Music.

The Town of Newburgh resident moved to the mid-Hudson Valley in 2002 and has performed as a soloist in local concerts for several years and with the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra. He recorded a CD earlier this year.

Vezuli graduated from Valley Central High School in Montgomery in June and is a freshman at SUNY New Paltz. He is the son of Aleksander Vezuli, a composer, lyricist and piano teacher.

The program will feature six pieces, including Bach’s “Prelude No. 21,” Chopin’s “Polonaise No. 6 in A flat major and Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata Op. 27 No. 2” (1st movement).
