Firemen’s Home Launches Statewide Spotlight Campaign

The Firemen’s Home, the only nursing home dedicated to providing quality health care to volunteer firefighters from communities throughout New York State, is launching a spotlight testimonial campaign featuring different residents in their unique nursing home. Each spotlight will introduce the background of the resident, how they became involved in the world of firefighting, their ties to specific fire departments along with current activities at the facility.

The campaign was created in an effort to inform and educate the community about the special qualities of volunteer firefighters and the high quality of care they receive as former firefighters, spouses and members of ladies auxiliaries living at The Firemen’s Home.

Thomas J. Mooney, President of the Board of Trustees of The Firemen’s Home, states, “Residents come to the Home from communities throughout New York State, with different life experiences and health issues. But they have one thing in common, the world of firefighting.” He adds, “The goal of this campaign is to highlight the lives of these unique individuals and spread the word about the wonderful care provided to them at The Firemen’s Home.”

World-renowned, the Firemen’s Home in Hudson considers admission eligibility based on one year or more of service during the individual’s lifetime as a New York State volunteer firefighter, along with ladies auxiliary members, and spouses. Residents are admitted from home, hospital or other health care facilities.
