Barbara A. (Dahlia) Ford

Barbara A. (Dahlia) Ford, age 64, a lifelong Cold Spring resident, died on Monday, March 27, 2006 at her home.

Born November 25, 1941, she is the daughter of the late Dominick and Margaret (LeMon) Dahlia.

Mrs. Ford, a 1959 graduate of Haldane High School, had been employed by Dairy Mart in Cold Spring and more recently by B&L Deli in Philipstown. She loved traveling to craft fairs and collected teapots from around the world. A huge Elvis fan, she also enjoyed ice-skating performances, and was an avid reader.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert L. Ford, who died July 23, 1996. She is survived by two loving sons, Scott Ford and Mark Ford, both of Cold Spring, four brothers, Edward, Roger, Donald, and Michael Dahlia, and one sister, Mary Dahlia Scalpi, who will never be forgotten. Several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and special friends also survive her. Two sons, Robert (Robbie) Ford and Eric Ford, two brothers, Douglas J. Dahlia and David Dahlia, and one sister, Margaret (Peggy) DeRonda predeceased her.

Private cremation services under the direction of Clinton Funeral Home, corner of Parrott and Pine Streets (21 Parrott St.) Cold Spring, were held on Tuesday, March 28, 2006. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, March 30th at St. Mary's Church in the Highland inCold Spring. Interment followed at Cold Spring Cemetery.
