Anita H. Nairn

Anita H. Nairn, age 69, a longtime resident of Cold Spring, died on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at home.

Born March 8, 1937 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Schmidt) Hempel. She was a graduate of Yorktown High School in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Mrs. Nairn was employed by Hudson Valley Hospital Center in the laboratory department as a data processing clerk. She previously worked at J.L. Butterfield Memorial Hospital from 1976 to 1989.

She was a life member of the Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corp, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Philipstown. Those that knew her know how much she enjoyed Star Trek and reading. Survivors include her two sons, Dennis and Richard Nairn and his wife Debra of Cold Spring and two daughters, Linda Nairn and Thomas Beneway of Wappinger Falls and Janet Trent and her husband Bradley of Fishkill, six grandchildren, Andrew, Marisa, and Ian Nairn, Christopher Trent, Thomas and Dale Beneway, and one brother, Ernest Hempel of Somers. A sister, Ingeborg Hempel Brewer, predeceased her.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, April 15th at the Clinton Funeral Home, corner of Parrott & Pine Sts (21 Parrott St) Cold Spring, NY, followed by interment at Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorial donations on Mrs. Nairn's behalf may be made to the Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corp, PO Box 364, Cold Spring, NY 10516.
