WPEDC Marketing Committee Invites All Interested Parties to May 19 Meeting

On Friday, May 19th at 8:30 am, at the Hudson House in Cold Spring, the Western Putnam Economic Development Council (WPEDC) Marketing Committee will be presenting its work to date. All interested parties are invited to attend. The marketing committee invites western Putnam County businesses, restaurants, merchants, organizations with a vested interest in serving the area, and members of the community to join them and contribute to planning.

More than 70 residents, businesses, elected officials, and not-for-profit organizations joined forces in February to discuss economic and tourism issues facing the Hudson Highland region of Putnam County. Out of the larger effort, a marketing committee was formed. Facilitated by two professional marketers, Marshall Mermell of MKTworks, Inc., and Joseph Plummer of the Advertising Research Foundation, the marketing committee has generated the first stages of a marketing plan.

The marketing committee initiated a process to analyze the issues facing the region and started to develop solutions. The next phase of their work will involve establishing goals, and creating a regional identity.
