Mark MacDonnell

Mark MacDonnell, age 84 died peacefully on Monday July 10, 2006 at St. Margaret's Hospice in Taunton, Somerset, England. Formerly of Garrison, New York, he and his wife Pamela, who predeceased him by three years, retired to England in 1970.

During WWII he was a Lieutenant serving on army transports as a military assistant to the Navy who were transporting the American troops to Europe and it was during the war that he met his wife Pamela. They were married in England before returning to New York City, where he graduated from Fordham Law School, practicing law in the city until they returned to the UK in 1970. Mark attended grammar

school and high school in New York City with Ryan Cuneo, of Garrison, who also met his wife Eileen in England during the war. It was Eileen Cuneo who persuaded Pam and Mark to come and look at a house in Garrison back in the 1950's, which they purchased.

Pam and Mark attended St. Philips Church in Garrison and became fast friends with Rev. Reisman and his wife Janet.

Services were held on July 20, 2006 at St. Mary's Church in Huish Episcopi, Somerset, England. Anyone wishing to remember Mark, donations can be made to the Philipstown Masonic Historical Society, PO Box 332, Cold Spring NY 10516.
