Michael Louis De Stefano

Michael Louis De Stefano, age 65, of New Paltz died Friday, August 4, 2006 at home. He was born September 12, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Michael and the late Mary (Antonocci) Di Stefano.

He married Jean Ann Hanson, who survives at home, on July 16, 1971 in Cold Spring, NY.

Mike has been a New Paltz resident since the mid 1960's, prior to that he lived during his high school years in Kingston and raised In Brooklyn.

He served in the Air Force between 1958 and 1962.

Mike received an Associate degree from Dutchess County Community College, and Bachelors of Science and Masters in Education degrees from SUNYNew Paltz.

He was a retired teacher who worked in the Wallkill Correctional Facility, Wallkill, NY.

Mike was a devoted husband and father; he was involved in a healing ministry at the Walter Hoving Home, Garrison, NY; he attended the Clintondale Friends Christian Church, Clintondale and Our Lady of Lourdes, Kerhonkson.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann Hanson, and daughters Michaela Hanson De Stefano of New Paltz, NY; Kristin Bree De Stefano of

Clifton, NJ. Also surviving are one brother: Anthony De Stefano of New Paltz, NY; his sister: Susan De Stefano of Hurley and many nieces and nephews; Father-in-law, Carl Wentworth Hanson, Jr. of Hyde Park; Brother-in-law, Gary Michael Hanson of Hyde Park; Sister-in-law, Joan Alice Hanson of Hamlin; and his pets.

Mike was predeceased by his sister Louise Connell, brother, James De Stefano, and infant sister, Mary Ann De Stefano.

The mass of the resurrection will be at 11 am on August 26th, 2006 at the Church of St Peter, Corner of James St. and Keator, Rosendale. Following the mass of Resurrection, ashes will be buried in New Paltz Rural Cemetery at 1:00 pm

Friends and family are invited to the 1:45pm gathering on August 25th, 2006 at Clintondale Friends Christian Church, Crescent Ave., Clintondale, NY.
