Putnam County Department of Health is Offering Two Free Programs for New Moms
Are you a mom of a child age 0-3 who would like to learn more about newborn and infant care, breastfeeding, child development, parenting and child safety as well as social and emotional support? Then the New Mommy's Chat Program is for you. The New Mommy's Chat Program is held every Thursday from 1pm - 3 pm at the Kent Public Library on Route 52 and is hosted by Putnam County Department of Health's Maternal Child Health Nurse Anka Roberto, RN, MSN/ MPH in cooperation with the library. Anka specializes in maternal and child health and will provide valuable information to all participants. The Chat Program is primarily for moms of children ages 0-3 years. Also, if you are a new mom of children ages 0-1, then the New Moms Group is for you. The New Moms Group is also being sponsored by the Putnam County Department of Health in cooperation with Mahopac Public Library. The Health Department's Maternal Child Health Nurse and Certified Lactation Consultant, Donna Cardone, RNC, IBCLC, hosts the New Mom's Group every Friday from 2 pm 4 pm at the Mahopac Public Library in the Garden View Activity Room. Donna provides support and guidance on topics such as growth and development, breastfeeding, sleeping patterns, managing colic, immunizations, nutrition, parenting skills, coping techniques. Join the New Moms Group to learn more about your new baby. Please contact Donna at 845278-6558 ext. 2119 to register.
There is no cost to attend either program and siblings are also welcome to attend. Feel free to drop in at any time during either two hour session. This is a great way to meet new moms and network. Registration is required.
