Haldane Third Graders Study Butterflies
Haldane third grade students have been learning about the life cycle of butterflies as part of their Science 21 unit. Pete Salmansohn visited the three third grade classes to review what they had learned about butterflies and to extend their knowledge.
Mr. Salmansohn had the children role play the stages of the life of a butterfly. They
also experimented with sense of smell activities to help understand the differences between human and butterfly senses. The ways that butterflies adapt to be able to survive in the environment were also covered. This exciting culmination to the butterfly unit was enjoyed by all and was made possible through a grant from the Haldane School Foundation.
