Dutchess County Man Arrested for Driving While Privileges Suspended
On June 16, 2006 26 year old Poughkeepsie resident Thomas Hudzik was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license in the Town of Philipstown.
At about 10:25 am that day, Putnam County Deputy Sheriff Thomas Lee was patrolling along Route 9 in Philipstown when he observed a vehicle operating with a loud muffler. The deputy stopped the car and identified its driver as Mr. Hudzik. During the traffic stop, the deputy learned that Mr. Hudzik's driver's license had been suspended for failing to pay a fine in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Mr. Hudzik was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor punishable by up to thirty days in jail and a fine of up to $500, as well as further sanctions against the offender's driving privileges. Hudzik was released after posting $100 desk bail, pending a July 17, 2006 appearance in the Philipstown Justice Court.
