Town Planner's Advice is Needed by Board To the Editor:
In reference to the letter last week from Susan Bates regarding the Town Planning Board, it became clear that the World Wrestling Federation had not died a merciful death. Alas, it is alive and prospers in the tagteam of Suzie & Susan.
In the most recent epistle, the latter attempts to give credibility to the former without credentials in order to give validity for the attempted coup de gras at the end of her letter.
One wonders what these scrappers would think of any legislative body looking into any matter which called in subordinates rather than the CEO's, of say, the oil or pharmaceutical companies. Why should the applicants who come before the Town Planning Board have the top advisors from their hired firms, but the Planning Board should not? Their inordinate distaste for town planner Tim Miller misses the point that members of the board are not automatons and can make decisions without Mr. Miller; it is his advice the board seeks.
Ms. Bates and Ms. Gilbert should ask the Town Board, why, with their many years of experience, Town Attorney Doyle, and not one of the assistant attorneys, is at every monthly meeting.
