McMahon and Mikos Graduate from Cochran School of Nursing
One hundred and ten students joined the growing ranks of newly certified Registered Nurses by graduating from St. John's Riverside Hospital's Cochran School of Nursing, June 8, 2006, during commencement exercises held at the Saunders High School in Yonkers. Cristy McMahon and Tina Mikos, both of Putnam Valley, were graduated at that time.
Dr. Beverly H. Bonaparte, a nurse, a pioneer in the health care industry for more than four decades and an international health care consultant, was the distinguished speaker.
In addition to graduation, Ms. Mikos won a scholarship from the Cochran Alumni Association and the Patricia Aitcheson Memorial Scholarship.
Founded in 1894, The Cochran School of Nursing prides itself in providing small clinical learning sections. Students receive individualized attention from expert faculty as they learn the practice roles of professional nursing. The school has an active, integrated academic program with Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, which offers support courses and an easy transition to baccalaureate and higher degree programs.
