Land Trust Holding Full Moon Hike
A Full Moon hike will take place on Wednesday, August 9th at 8 pm. The hike will leave from the Green Chimneys Pavilion opposite the campus on Doansburg Road. The August full moon is called the Green Corn Moon and hike participants will enjoy the smells and sounds of summer while strolling through the meadows of this important wetland. Bring flashlights for the finish, but get ready to challenge your night vision. By the end of the hike, the planet Mars should be quite visible as it will be the closest the planet has been to earth in recorded history.
The hike will be led by Beth Herr, Putnam County Land Trust board program chair. For more information, please call Beth at 228-5635. There is no fee for this program.
Directions: From Route 22 take Doansburg Road for approximately 2 miles. You will see the Green Chimneys campus on the right and on the left a large parking area. Turn left into the parking area and proceed to the rear of the lot to the pavilion.
