Election Workers From Both Parties Needed Dear Community:
There is an urgent need for Election Workers for the 2006 elections. This is an important opportunity to serve your community. You will be providing oversight and guidance to ensure that every voter enjoys his/ her privilege and right to vote. The time is now! This is for you!
Indications are for a robust Primary Election on Tuesday, September 12 with several candidates from all the political parties seeking their party nominations. The outcome of the Primary will determine who is on the ballot for the party in the General Election on Tuesday, November 7.
About working at the elections This is a paid position! You work as a bi-partisan team with other experienced workers! You are placed at your home voting site unless you request otherwise! Training is provided! The familiar lever machines will be used for both elections! You can work either or both elections! You are with neighbors! You are helping your local community! You are supporting our democratic process! You make it possible for citizens to enjoy the privilege and to fulfill the responsibility of voting, and to select and to elect the candidate(s)!
To be an election worker you must be a registered voter in Putnam County. You are eligible to register if you are a citizen and are eighteen (18) years of age. There is still time to register to vote if you have not already done so.
In Philipstown election workers are especially needed for the September 12th Primary districts 2 and 11 at Nelsonville Firehouse and for districts 4 and 9 at the Continental Village Clubhouse. Putnam Valley and Cannel are also in need Election workers for the Primary. Please consider being an Election worker on Tuesday, September 12 and/or Tuesday, November 7. You are needed by the voter and for the voting process! It takes all of us to have our community viable and functioning.
