Its an Issue of Fairness
To the Editor:
Regarding the recent decision of the Putnam Valley Board of Ethics and Town Council Member statements, I have two questions.
The first one is What is the definition of domestic partner under Putnam Valley Town Law?
The second is Since the Ethics Board has found that domestic partners of town employees are the same as spouses under Town Law, does this mean that in the Town of Putnam Valley, domestic partners of town employees will now receive the same benefits as spouses, including health insurance and pension benefits? For me, this is an issue of fairness.
