Blue Devil Softball Players at National Competition
Haldane varsity softball pitcher Chelsea Lisikatos and catcher Cassie Barcavage met up at the 2006 PONY National Fastpitch Championships this summer held in Vienna, Ohio from July 22-29. Both girls were in Ohio representing fastpitch travel organizations they play for when not wearing a blue devil uniform. Chelsea and sister Samantha Lisikatos play for the New York Challenge Fastpitch team from Hopewell Junction. Cassie
plays for the New York Clash based in Warwick, NY. Both teams qualified for nationals by earning a bid during the regular tournament season.
The championships mark the end of the 2006 tournament season but the girls won't get much rest because tryouts and practices for 2007 begin in mid August. Both girls are looking forward to teaming up again for the varsity season after finishing as Section l semi-finalists.
