Freemasonry Celebrates 225 Years in NY with Interfaith Service at Chapel of Our Lady of Restoration

On September 10, at 8am, the brotherhood of Freemasonry celebrates its 225th anniversary with a Sunday morning, interfaith service at the Chapel of Our Lady of Restoration, 45 Market Street in Cold Spring.

In the spirit of inclusion, the public is invited to join this special worship celebration. Philipstown Lodge, with the assistance of Collabergh Radium Lodge, acknowledges the unity of humanity with a nondenominational worship service. Join them as they celebrate a variety of the great traditions of the world's sacred teachings.

Masonry is the oldest fraternal organization in the world.

Its history dates back hundreds, if not thousands of years. Although no one has definitively pinpointed the exact date when Freemasonry was born, most are agreed that its modern form dates back to at least the 15th century. Philipstown Masonic Lodge No. 236 was established in 1851and is located at 18 Secor Street, Nelsonville.

People of all faiths are invited to attend. Reverend Marc Sabin of Cold Spring will lead an inspiring worship service. The service will feature vocalist Lisa Sabin and accompanist Richard Hastede. For more information call 265-7000, ext 13.
