Couple Assaulted in Cold Spring Village
The Cold Spring Police Department reports that two Cold Spring residents were assaulted and robbed by 3 unidentified persons in the early morning hours of last Sunday, October 1, 2006.
According to the Department's incident report, at 2:30am on October 1, Cold Spring Police Officer Pupczyk was dispatched by 911 operators to the area of the intersection of The Boulevard and Constitution Drive with reports of a woman screaming for help.
Upon arrival at the scene, Pupczyk found numerous people standing on the sidewalk. When interviewed, the victims reported that they had been walking to their vehicle when they were approached by 3 masked men who surrounded them, knocked the male victim to the ground and took the female victim's pocketbook. The female then ran towards the nearby condominiums. The alleged perpetrators were reported to leave the scene in a grey/silver Ford Taurus.
The male victim refused medical treatment from the Philipstown Ambulance Corps.
Officer Pupczyk was assisted at the scene by Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies Babcock and Bradley and Sheriff's investigator Vinny Martin.
The investigation is ongoing. The Cold Spring Police Department asks that anyone with any information regarding this incident to contact the Department at 265-3407.
