Chuang Yen Monastery Presents Meditation and Dharma Talk
On Sunday November 19 and Sunday December 17, the Chung Yen Monastery will offer meditation from 9:30- 11am,in the Woo Ju Memorial Library, followed by a Dharma Talk at Kuan Yin Hall, from 1:30-3pm
Speaker Manikanto Bhikkhu was born on May 7, 1965 in Thailand. He became a fully ordained monk on 12/1/87, into the order of Thai Buddhist monks of the Dhammakaya Temple, main branch, in Patumthani, Thailand. The Dhammakaya Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in Thailand, and has many local temples around the world. Manikanto Bhikkhu has both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Buddhist Philosophy. He has been the Acting Abbot of Dhammakaya Temples in
London, UK and Belgium. He presently is the director of Buddhist Educational Programs in New Jersey. For the past year Manikanto Bhikkhu has been residing at The Dhammakaya International Meditation Center, in Fanwood, NJ, where, in addition to managing the educational programs, he offers weekly English Dhamma Talks and Meditation Classes, as well as Dhamma Talks and Meditation Classes in Thai. Also, Manikanto Bhikkhu translates and edits the Lord Buddha's Dhamma in the form of books, case studies on the law of kamma, and many other Dhamma projects.
