Emily Nytko and John Lutz Were Wed
Ms. Emily Anne Nytko and Mr. John William Lutz were joined in marriage on July 22, 2006. The double ring ceremony took place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Highland Falls and was celebrated by Father Jack Arlotta. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Frederick E. Nytko, Jr. of Highland Falls.,
Shannon Locks of Santa Ana, California, a longtime friend of the bride, served as maid of honor, while the groom's brother, David A. Lutz of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, was best man. Other bridesmaids included Rebecca Somers of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Patricia Aron of Corvallis, Oregon, both friends of the bride. Groomsmen were Frederick E. Nytko, III of Highland Falls, brother of the bride, and Sujan Patel of Washington, D.C., a longtime friend of the groom.
The, bride wore a strapless chapel length gown with allover beaded corded lace and carried a bouquet of bright red opium roses inlaid with crystals and pearls. Her bridesmaids wore black and white envelopeback satin gowns and carried bouquets of red and white opium roses.
The bride is the daughter of Frederick E. Nytko, Jr and Elizabeth A. Nytko (nee Treacy) of Highland Falls. She is the granddaughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Nytko of Garrison, and of the late Jack and Rita Treacy of Highland Falls.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of James I. O'Neill High School. In 2001, she earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, where the couple met. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.
The groom is the son of Robert A. Lutz and Barbara Gaal Lutz of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He is the grandson of Catherine Lutz Gilles of Overland Park, Kansas, and William and Madeline Edwards of Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Unionville High School in Pennsylvania. In 2001, he graduated magna cum laude
from Dartmouth with a bachelor's degree in history and economics. He received his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2005 and currently works as an attorney at the law firm of Ropes & Gray, LLP, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Following the ceremony, guests attended a dinner reception at The Dutchess Manor in Beacon. Afterward, the couple honeymooned in Hawaii, Arizona, and Nevada. John Lutz and Emily Nytko-Lutz currently reside in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
