Catch Peak Foliage At Manitoga
This Weekend Manitoga/The Russel Wright Design Center will offer a guided hike to Four Corners this Sunday, October 22 at 12 noon. The hike will be led by Chris Galligan, local arborist and Manitoga Advisory Board Member. Four Corners, which is just over one mile from Wright's home and studio Dragon Rock, is an intersection of segments of four paths designed by Russel Wright. Wright thought that the Four Corners Room suggested the inside of a cathedral, so he placed log benches here for
visitors to listen to the music of the forest. This moderate hike is open to the public and there is a suggested donation of $5 per person, the proceeds of which will go toward trail maintenance. Reservations are suggested. Manitoga/The Russel Wright Design Center, a National Historic Landmark, is located on Route 9D in Garrison, approximately two miles north of the Bear Mountain Bridge.
