Garrison Union Free School's First Grades Celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day
Mrs. Greene's and Mrs. Martin's first grade classes at the Garrison Union Free School celebrated one of their first social studies units together in late September. The children learned about Johnny Appleseed and his journeys across the United States.
The two classes read stories, poems, songs, and participated in many fun and educational
activities. First grade parents, Ms. Champi, Ms. Colasurdo, Ms. Convertino and Ms. Mayo helped assemble Johnny Appleseed hats and prepare special apple recipes for the students.
As you can probably tell, first grade is a busy year. The school is are grateful to have special families to assist us with holiday celebrations.
