Putnam Valley HS to Host Ten County Math Conference
The Putnam Valley Central School District is pleased to announce that they will host the Ten County Mathematics Conference on Saturday March 10, 2007, at Putnam Valley High School. Putnam Valley Middle School teachers Ms. Mary Kay Cohen and Ms. Karen Brothers are the event coordinators for the PVCSD.
The Ten County Mathematics Education Association is an all-volunteer, professional group of pre-kindergarten through college educators serving ten counties in the Hudson Valley. The purpose of the organization is the promotion of mathematics education, communication among teachers,
and the exchange of information and innovative ideas. TCMEA is an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS).
Every year, a different location is selected to host the Annual Spring Conference, which features a wide range of workshops, vendor exhibits, a luncheon, and raffle prizes. Anyone interested in the advancement of mathematics education-including any educator or student in an education program in college-is welcome to attend.
