| The average lifespan of an African Water Frog is 3 years. Garrison School's fifth grade frog, Big Guy, turned 18 on September 29! Why is this amphibious amazement still alive and hoppin'?
"Big Guy is a great frog and really enjoys the children." says teacher Patty Scecina, Big Guy's owner. She also says the reason Big Guy has lived so long is the kids. Big Guy eats live baby crickets. Don't feed him any adult ones, he'll choke. He also eats reptile food. Well, children or not, he has lived a while and we hope he lives many more years. Keep going, Big Guy!
We entered Big Guy in the Guinness book of World Records and are waiting for a response. We hope that Big Guy will find a way to hop to the top! Facts about Big Guy: DOB- 9/29/88 Length-About 4 inches Color-Brownish-Greenish Home-Tank in room 21 of Garrison School
Big Guy - Big News! Big Guy is a girl!! While researching frog facts on the internet, Nicole P. and Megan B. discovered he is a female! We had a school-wide contest to name her, and she is now known as Queenie!
