Ladies' Night Out With Anna Quindlen - a Healthcare Forum for Women

Health Quest, the parent corporation of Putnam Hospital Center, Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center, will host "Ladies' Night Out with Anna Quindlen-A Healthcare Forum for Women" on Thursday, November 30th, from 3:30 to 9pm at the Fishkill Holiday Inn (at Exit 13 off I-84). The event, which will focus on healthcare issues affecting women, will feature physician guest speakers from each of the three hospitals.

Putnam Hospital Center internist and endocrinologist Genevieve Lama, MD, of Northern Medical Specialists, will speak about the growing problem of diabetes in America and how it affects women in particular. Northern Dutchess Hospital gynecologist Amy Novatt, MD, of Women's Medical Care of Rhinebeck, will discuss the various health issues of women as they age. And Vassar Brothers Medical Center internist Amelia Martinko, MD, of the Mid-Hudson Medical Group, will explore health topics for the do-it-all-woman and the critical need for preventive care.

Pulitzer Prize winning author and Newsweek "The Last Word" columnist Anna Quindlen will provide the keynote address entitled, "Women in the 218" Century: The Balancing Act." The former New York Times Op-Ed columnist's works have included fiction, nonfiction and self-help books with several of her novels made into films, including the bestselling One True Thing, which starred Meryl Streep and Renee Zellweger. In September, her latest book, Rise and Shine, entered the New York Times bestseller list at #1 in hardcover fiction.

Tickets for the event, which includes dinner with cash bar, are $50 each. Tables of 10 can be reserved in advance. Reservations and payment are required prior to November 22nd; due to anticipated sell-out, walk-ins cannot be accommodated. For more information and reservation forms, please log onto www.health-quest.org or call 845-871-3505.
