Putnam Hospital to Offer Series of Free Parenting Classes
On Saturday, December 2nd, Putnam Hospital Center's maternity department will offer a series of free parenting classes in its Birthing Center, located at the hospital at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel.
Included in the series will be a Baby Boot Camp (from 10 to 11:30am), an interactive class geared for new or adoptive parents either before or after delivery that reviews basic newborn care issues and helps parents set realistic expectations for their baby's first few months; a Sibling Class (from 8 to 9am), open to youngsters three years of age and older, designed to ease the transition
of becoming a big brother or sister; a Grandparenting Class (from 9 to 10am), which discusses the changes that have occurred in childcare since the grandparents raised their children; and a class on Pets and the Newborn (from 11:30am to 12:30pm) that offers tips on how to introduce your pet to the newborn in the home.
