PVHS Make a Difference Group Makes Hospital Visit

Putnam Valley High School (PVHS) is proud to announce that members of the PVHS Make A Difference Club today participated in WHUD's Children's Miracle Network Radiothon to benefit Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla by presenting morning show hosts Mike Bennett and Kacey Morabito with a check for $1,000.00.

The Radiothon was broadcast live from the lobby of the hospital. Student representatives of the Make A Difference Club made a special visit to the hospital in order to present the check in person. The $1000.00 that they donated on behalf of the club represented just 25% of the more than $4000.00 that Make A Difference raised for its "Kids Helping Kids" project to benefit children's hospitals and teen outreach programs through its annual Stay Awake- A-Thon held at the High School during the night of October 27th-28th .

PVHS seniors and Club officers Tony Rush (treasurer) and Jackie Cestaro (president) spoke on air about the importance

of the club's fundraising efforts, and Jackie shared her personal experience of recently having had a diagnostic surgical procedure at the hospital. She praised the warmth and welcoming atmosphere and her homelike hospital room that included many stuffed animals and a plasma TV.

Also on hand were student volunteers Michelle Stoisits, Nicole Torsiello, and Ohn Soon Kim. Longtime club advisors, math teacher Linda Cefaloni and School Nurse Pam Adamovich, were acknowledged on air and thanked for their support and dedication. PVCSD Superintendent Gary Tutty commented, "Jackie and Tony were great. I was very proud to hear them on the radio. What a great donation to a great hospital. I am proud of the entire Make A Difference Club for what they have accomplished."

WHUD's Children's Miracle Network Radiothon to benefit Maria Fareri Children's Hospital was presented by Entergy's Indian Point Energy Center.
