Hudson Valley Hospital Center Wins National Success Award
Hudson Valley Hospital Center is proud to announce that Press Ganey Associates has named it a 2006 Success Stories Award Winner. This places Hudson Valley Hospital Center in the top 10% in employee satisfaction. More than 1,600 inpatient hospitals currently participate in the company database. Press Ganey is a nationally recognized company that partners with health care facilities to measure the level of patient and employee satisfaction and improve their quality of health care delivery. Press Ganey allows hospitals nationwide to benchmark their results against peer organizations.
The Success Stories Awards recognizes facilities that have demonstrated strong leadership, implemented organizational change and increased customer satisfaction. Only six organizations received this honor at the Press Ganey annual conference held in New York City in November.
Dr. Melvin F. Hall, President and Chief Executive Officer of Press Ganey notes: "We are proud of Hudson Valley Hospital Center. Their innovative approach to employee satisfaction helps recruit and retain an outstanding work force dedicated to provide excellent medical care to their community."
John C. Federspiel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hudson Valley Hospital Center comments: "The 2006 Success Stories Award is a culmination of many years of open communication with employees, and of a management team that listens and responds to staff needs. As the largest employers in our area, our work force is our biggest asset and we work hard to create a great working environment and celebrate our stars."
Increased employee satisfaction over the last six years point to the success of an open door with the President, regular employee town meetings, a recognition program that demonstrates how much employees are valued and a culture based on service excellence.
"The Hospital is my second family" quotes Suzanne Testa, outreach coordinator. "I could work much closer to home, but I love to work here, and I am willing to travel far every day."
