North Highlands Fire Department Santa to Visit Community December 17th
North Highlands Engine Co.# 1 Santa will be on his Big Red Sled and will visit the community on Sunday, December 17, 2006, with gifts for the children and holiday good wishes for all. The schedule below is the route that Santa will follow. Santa will try to stay as close to it as possible but the Department stresses to arrive early at the stop most convenient for you and please be patient. Dress warm and bring some hot chocolate or coffee (enough to share with Santa and his Elves).
Route #1:
Truck will depart NHFD headquarters, at noon (siren will sound) and proceed to our first stop at the intersection of Rt 9 and East Mtn. Rd South. Next we will tour through Hiram Rd., Joanne Place, Perk 'n Sons court and Perks Blvd., in that order. From here Santa will return to East Mtn. South to arrive at Fenichel Rd., through Fenichel to Clove Brook Dr. to end at Cul-de-sac. We will then proceed back to Oak Ridge and then to Hy-Vue Terrace, touring Hy-Vue and returning to East Mtn. South. We will climb East Mtn. South, stopping at Downey Lane and again at area of Carlsons Green House. Santa will continue on East Mtn. South to the intersection with Esselbourne. All residents of
East Mtn. South and North above Esselbourne and residents of Esselbourne will need to meet us at this stop/intersection. The truck will then return to NHFD headquarters for a break.
At 1:30 pm Santa will return to the road, proceeding north on Rt. 9 to our first stop, which will be at the intersection of Rt. 9 and Horton Rd. Then, proceeding north to Brookside Trailer Park, returning south to Cold Spring Trailer Park, continuing on to Lyons Rd., touring Lyons Rd. and returning to NHFD.
Route #2:
Truck will depart NHFD Headquarters at noon (siren will sound), going south on Fishkill Rd. to our first stop at Foreman Rd., touring Foreman and then back to Fishkill Rd. The truck will proceed north on Fishkill Rd. to Barrett Pond Rd., touring Barrett with stops at Beale and Foundry Dam Rd. Santa will continue on Barrett to Valhalla Highland, into the Highlands as far as the mailboxes. From this point, we will return to Hustis Rd., touring Hustis Rd., with stops at Beale and Woods Rd. We will then continue on Hustis to Knollwood Dr., touring Knollwood to Cul-de-sac and then back to NHFD Headquarters for a break.
At 1:30, Santa will return to the road, proceeding south on Rt 9 to our first stop at the Parking Lot near the intersection of Jaycox Rd. All residents of Jaycox Rd. need to meet Santa in this area. Again, continuing further South on Rt. 9 to the Post Road Hardware, where all residents of Lane Gate Rd. will need to meet Santa. From here we will enter the Post Road Trailer Park, touring Park grounds and then returning to Rt. 9 north, to our last stop at Rt. 9 and Torchia Rd. (in parking lot of former Mike's Rock House).
Note: If you live on a high traffic road (Rt. 9, Rt. 301, etc.), please try to meet Santa at designated stops. These stops were chosen for safety reasons. It allows Santa enough room to get his overgrown sled off the road. Also, please be very careful with the children near the road for as you all know, traffic is very heavy at this time of year.
