| On Friday, November 17th at the Putnam Valley High School (PVHS) Performing Arts Center (PAC) Faculty and staff from PVHS, Putnam Valley Middle School (PVMS) and Putnam Valley Elementary School (PVES) rocked the house in the Second Annual Putnam Valley Music Association (PVMA) Variety Show Fundraiser.
The sold-out event (seating capacity is 589) netted some $5,600 to support Putnam Valley's music programs. The performers were the multitalented faculty and staff of Putnam Valley's schools as well as selected friends. Acts included musical and dance numbers from classic doo-wop to Broadway, a Napoleon Dynamite
tribute, classical instrumentals, lively production numbers, and an all-star band of some of Putnam Valley's most talented musicians.
The Putnam Valley Music Association is an organization of parents and educators who want to foster the best possible music education for Putnam Valley students. PVMA was instrumental in establishing the PVHS chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. PVMA has also sponsored music related events and activities and has created scholarships and awards for Putnam Valley student musicians. More info on PVMA is available at www.pvcsd.org.
