Putnam Valley High School (PVHS) senior and varsity field hockey goalkeeper, Kim Kastuk, has been named to the 2006 Penn Monto National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region Team for the North Region.

The athletically and academically talented senior, a 5-year varsity starter, has a long list of accomplishments to her credit. In addition to leading her team to a New York State Field Hockey Championship in 2005, Kim was a 2005 Junior Olympic invitee and a National Futures Tournament participant in both 2005 and 2006. She was named an All-State player in 2005 and All Section in 2005, 2004, and 2003.

In 2005 the North County News named her Player of the Year. An NYSPHSA Scholar Athlete in 2005, 2004, 2003,

and 2002, Kim was the MVP of her PVHS team in 2005 and Team Captain in both 2005 and 2006. Statistically, Kim had a 92% save percentage junior year and a 100% post season save percentage (6 games, 36 shots, 0 scored) in the 2005 season. Kim is also a 4 year varsity softball & basketball player (8- 11th grade) and was a captain of all three teams in her junior year.

Kim is strong in academics and was class vice president for 9, 10, & 11th grade. She also plays the drums in the worship band in church on Sundays and volunteers in the nursery at church. Kim expects to sign with Boston University early in 2007. The BU field hockey team is a Division One squad currently ranked 21 in the nation.
