The Flat Iron Gallery of Peekskill will have its fourth solo exhibit of Marlene Ferrell Parillo’s magnificent ceramic and mixed media narrative sculptures opening in February. The show is entitled “Illuminations”. An artist’s reception will be held Sat. Feb. 3rd, from 1-5pm. The show will be on view in the gallery’s second floor exhibit space from Feb. 2nd- March 25, 2007. This is the first time Marlene has incorporated stained glass with some her clay figures and has also built them so that some “light up”. Parillo likes new challenges and has dazzled us in the past with her unique designs miraculously conceived and so difficult to construct!. Parillo also teaches art at Strang Middle School in Yorktown, has taught as well at the College of New Rochelle and given workshops at the Westchester Art Workshop.
The Flat Iron Gallery also exhibits year round fine art and handcrafted jewelry by over 100 area artists. For more information call 914-734-1894. The gallery is located at 105 South Division Street.
