Beacon’s Howland Library Offers Homework Assistance
Got Homework? Howland Public Library in Beacon will offer homework guidance and research assistance for all grade levels at our Homework Center between January 8th and June 7th. The Homework Center will operate Monday through Thursday from 3-5pm. The library has a qualified Homework Coordinator and teen mentor who offer support to students. They will consult with students about their daily assignments and projects, help them locate appropriate library materials and advise them in effective use of both print and online learning resources. Parents may also be assisted in helping their children.
Parents are asked to register children during Center hours or on Saturdays between 10am – 4pm. A nonrefundable $5 materials/snacks fee is due at the time of registration. After they are registered, students may drop in to the Homework Center any time it is open. During times when the Homework Center is not operating, the library always has a librarian on staff who can assist students.
The Homework Center will not be open when the public schools are closed for holidays, vacations or weather emergencies. For more information, contact Ginny Figlia or Janet Ruhe at (845) 831-1134, ex. 103.
