Metro-North Runs Additional Holiday Trains
Metro-North Railroad will be offering more than the usual trains into and out of Grand Central during the holidays as follows:
-Friday, December 22: There will be special getaway service with extra trains and longer trains departing Grand Central from noon through 4pm. Between 4pm. and 5pm, normal peak schedules will be in effect. But from 5pm. through 8:30pm., service will be somewhat consolidated due to lighter ridership.
-Saturday, December 23: A regular Saturday schedule will operate this day.
-Sunday, December 24:A regular Sunday schedule will operate this day.
-Monday, December 25: A Sunday schedule will operate this day.
-Tuesday through Friday, December 26-29: During this holiday week, a.m. peak ridership decreases, while midmorning travel increases. Metro-North has changed its schedules to reflect this change in ridership. The specific changes are listed on the October 2nd timetables and in the special holiday schedule now available.
-Friday, December 29: Between noon and 4pm., there will be additional trains departing Grand Central. Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. normal peak service will operate. Between 5pm. and 8:30pm a consolidated service will be in effect reflecting lighter ridership numbers.
- Saturday, December 30: A regular Saturday schedule will be in effect.
Sunday, December 31, 2006: A regular Sunday schedule will operate on this day with additional inbound service in the afternoon and evening and allnight outbound service after midnight.
Monday, January 1, 2006: A regular Sunday schedule will be in effect.
